Terry T.R. Strong Obituary (1937

Terry "T.R." Strong of Seabeck, WA died from injuries suffered from an auto accident on August 27th. He was 70 years of age. Terry was born to Rupert and Maxine (Kemp) Strong on April 23, 1937 in Bremerton, WA. He graduated from Bremerton High School in 1955, Olympic College in 1957, Washington State University in 1959 and received his Master's Degree from the University of Michigan. On August 12, 1961, he married Kaye Thompson in Bremerton. Terry worked for the Chelan County Health Department and in 1967, started work for the Washington State Department of Health. After 32 years with the State, Terry retired in 1999. After retiring, Terry focused on his musical career and played in several jazz bands. He was a member of the Wenatchee and Olympia Elks Clubs, serving as chief musician. Terry was the current president of the Master Gardener Foundation of Kitsap County. He was also the trombonist with "No Inhibitions" jazz band. Terry never tired of learning about new things. He had numerous hobbies and interests. Terry is survived by his wife, Kaye of Seabeck, WA; sons, Bryan (Kimberly) Strong of Annandale, VA and Barry (Erika) Strong of Olympia, WA; sister, Kathy (Jose Leos) Slayer of Tacoma, WA; and four grandchildren, Justine, Jessica, Robyn and Kathy. A memorial service will be held at Lewis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 1st at 11:00am.
