Su Chong Goree

Su Chong Goree, age 60 of Bremerton, Washington passed away at home on February 3rd at 6:06 pm surrounded by her loved ones after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Born in Kyongpuk Do, South Korea on May 21, 1965 to Son Un Kyong and Kim So Hwa, she was the oldest sibling of her two sisters, Su-He & Su-Young, and brother, Yong-Dae. Su's passion for cooking and unbelievable work ethic led her to a successful career as an Executive Chef, after which she opened her own restaurant, Suzy's Kitchen, in 2008. Her knowledge and skills were unmatched, as she built her reputation as one of the best restaurants in Kitsap County for 17 years! Some of Su's favorite things to do were cooking for family, gardening, tending to her plants, enjoying nature, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved camping and going out for family picnics. Su is survived by her husband of (22) years Eddie, her daughter Jeni and husband John, her son Jakob and wife Karen, step-sons Norwin and Edwin, and her grandchildren June, George, Elijah, and Noah. A celebration of life will be held at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton on Friday 13th, 2026. Viewing will be open to the public from 11am-12pm, with memorial service 12pm-1pm, followed by reception from 1pm-4pm.
