Mimi V. Ferrell Obituary (1923

Mimi V. Ferrell died on Feb. 19, 2015. She suffered from Alzheimer's for a number of years and is survived by her daughter Loriann Ferrell-Soto and her two grandsons Alex and Chris Soto. She was preceded in death by her first daughter, Peggy Lea Ferrell in 1976, and her oldest brother John Baird in 2005, husband Jim Ferrell in 2011, and twin brother William "Bill" Baird 2013. Mimi was born on January 23, 1923, was the second of three children born 20 minutes before her brother Bill. She moved to Denver Colorado in the early 1940's and met her husband Jim while she lived there and they married in 1943. They moved often due to Jim being an officer in Air Force. They had their first child Peggy in 1947 followed by a second child Loriann in 1960. In 1964 the family moved from Lincoln, NE to Green Valley, CA. In 1970 when Jim retired they moved to a farm in Acampo, CA. The moved to Washington in 1990's settling in Poulsbo. Mimi learned to fly a plane in 1942 and had a great faith with God. She never met a stranger was eager to help her family, friends and neighbors. She was a great baker, played Bridge, jitterbug dancer, a hard worker with unlimited energy and a fine lady with a sharp wit. Mimi was a lovely person who never knew a stranger and had a passion for life. She will never be forgotten by those who loved her.
