Michael Norman O'Day Obituary (1944

Michael Norman O'Day, 63, of Bremerton passed away on April 14 at Harrison Hospital of heart failure due to complications of Diabetes. He was born May 12, 1944 in Bremerton to Hazel Mullins. Michael graduated from West High in 1962. He worked as a Journeyman Electrician for PSNS shop 51, were he was recognized and awarded for his accomplishments, for 38 1/2 years before retiring in 2000. Michael was a member of the NHRA and Electrician's Union. He enjoyed anything to do with cars, including; building and designing engines, and designing car bodies, and racing at Bremerton Raceway. Michael won his first race in 1959 and continued to hold championships from the 60's- 90's. These awards include the Budwiser Championships. Survivors include his mother, Hazel Mullins of Bremerton, sister, Patricia L. O'Day of Portland, OR, brother, Timothy I. Mullins (Linda) of Bremerton, his nephew whom he thought the world of, John T. Mullins, and life long friends, Bert & Helen Kelly of Port Orchard, and many other friends. No services will be held.
