Meredith Nadine Myers Obituary (1959

Meredith Nadine (Hanford) Myers, 51 of Bremerton, WA passed away on August 17, 2010. Meredith was born on March 28, 1959 in Spokane, WA to H. Brooks and Barbara A. (Wyman) Hanford. She graduated from Pullman High School in Pullman, WA. Meredith also attended Spokane Comm. College and Olympic College. She received a degree from The Handle Institute in Seattle. Meredith was a bus driver for the Bremerton School Dist and worked in Real Estate sales with Asset Realty. She previously was an instructional assistant with the Bremerton School District, a Foster Parent and a Handle Practitioner. Meredith served on the Kitsap County Fair Board as Parking Director. She was a member of the Seafair Boat Club, serving on the Board of Directors and on the Seafair Race Team as Assistant Land Chair (Pit Operations). Meredith enjoyed hydroplane racing ranging from Unlimited to Lights classes and was Team Manager for Christiansen Racing. She was very active with Washington Explorer Search & Rescue of Kitsap County, serving as Operations Leader and on the Board of Directors. She was the recipient of the Search & Rescue "Volunteer of the Year" award for Kitsap County and Washington State. She also enjoyed being a foster parent for many years. Meredith is survived by her son, Lawrence "Dusty" D. Sibon of Bremerton; daughter, Kelsey Ann Myers ( Chris Jankoski) of Sebastion, FL, with one grandchild, Olyvia Myers; sister, Alison M. Johnston (Lynn) of Camas, WA; Aunts, Jessica Hanford, MD of Bellingham, WA and Judy Maddux (Robert) of Roy, WA. Other extended family and special friends include foster son, Caleb Jones-Safly, Deb Widen & family, Jill Miller and Orpha Dixon "Meredith's inspiration". Meredith loved animals, especially her dog "Soldier", who was her friend and protector. She was very community oriented with her highest priority for family & friends. She was committed to helping others resolve problems and reach goals. She did it all with an engaging smile and contagious laugh. No formal services will be held at this time, however family and friends will gather in October to celebrate her life. A date and time will be announced.
