Maisie (Wheatley) Mandelas, passed away on the morning of December 8th, 2023, in the arms of her newlywed husband, Dave Mandelas. The couple was married last August at A Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. Maisie was born in Redding, California on February 14th, 1981. She was the daughter of Gary and Hazel (Hunter) Brown.
Gary and Hazel moved to North Kitsap in 1986, with their young daughters, Maisie, and Lorraine. Maisie then remained in the Poulsbo area. After graduating from North Kitsap High School in 1999, eventually she was employed by North Kitsap School District for over 17 years where she became Lead Groundskeeper. Being the adventurous type when an opportunity presented itself, she left the school district to start a small business with her husband and was a natural at it. Maisie received from her parents the love of animals and had a soft spot in her heart for them. This love was strengthened by being a member of 4H in High School, where she raised pigs. She loved her two boxers (Zelda and Ezra) and her three cats (Gladys, Skittles, and Archimedes).
Maisie made a significant impact on her community, she often would say that her greatest achievement was her daughter Miya, whom she loved deeply, they both enjoyed a special bond. Right behind that was being a homeowner, she had great pride in her home, which she would regularly decorate for every holiday or special occasion. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Maisie is survived by her husband Dave Mandelas, daughter Miya, parents Gary and Hazel Brown, sister Lorraine Bennett and her family, stepsons Dylan and Brody. Maisie is Loved and will forever hold a special place in our hearts and minds.
Celebration of Life on January 21st at Sons of Norway, 18991 Front St NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370. Come join the family to share lunch, memories, and the love we shared for Maisie between 11-1pm.
