Johnathan "John-Boy" Owney, 28, of Port Orchard, WA passed away in Bremerton, WA on April 30th. Johnathan was born on April 14, 1979 to Duncan Owney and Doris Owney-Castro in Newport News, VA. He attended South Hampton High School in Ivor, VA. Johnathan worked as a laborer and heavy equipment operator in construction. He was a member of the Ivor Hunt Club. Johnathan enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, off-roading and spending time with his family and daughter. Johnathan was preceded in death by his sister, Lacey Chantell Zink-Castro in 2005. He is survived by his fiance', Keysha Homan of Port Orchard, WA; parents, Doris Owney-Castro of Port Orchard, WA and Duncan and Nannygay Owney of Virginia; daughter, Nikki Owney of Port Orchard, WA; brothers, Ryan Castro of Belfair, WA, Chris Owney of Ivor, VA, Donovan Zink of Bremerton, WA, and David Olivas of Bremerton, WA; sisters, Alyson McLean of Seattle, WA; maternal grandparents, Randolph and Sharon Castro of Port Orchard, WA and Herbert and Joann Smalley of Paradise, CA; Aunts, Rachel, Jennifer and Deena Castro; Uncles, Robert and Jacob Castro; cousins, Ariana, Aaron, Stephanie, Shawna, Amber and Brenna; and the Robert John Homan Family. Public viewing will be held at Lewis Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 4th from 10:00am to 5:30pm and on Saturday May 5th from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Bremerton, Sunday May 6th at 2:00pm. Interment will be held at Silverdale Cemetery immediately following the service.
