Grenda May Nuk Ling Cancino Obituary (1950

Grenda May Nuk Ling Cancino of Bremerton, Washington was born on May 1, 1950, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Pedro Wences Lao and Emily Siu Kim Cancino (Ling). Grenda passed away on September 5, 2023, at home in Bremerton, Washington at the age of 73. Grenda attended and graduated from Farrington High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. She went on to attend Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington and Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington. She earned her BA in Human Services as well as becoming a Certified Medical Assistant. She also helped with treating eating disorders, advanced personal care, confronting challenge AIDS and literacy training. She was a Mental Health Service Counselor for 19 years before retiring. She also enjoyed being a business owner. Grenda was a member of the League of Mercy Ministry of Salvation Army and received the Golden Acorn Award within the PTA. Grenda enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball, and spring training for the Mariners in Arizona. She took great pride in supporting her two sons and her granddaughter in any way. Survivors include her sons Aaron Cancino and Travis Beach both of Bremerton, Washington, brother Glen Cancino of Honolulu, Hawaii, sister Gale Cancino of Honolulu, Hawaii, and her granddaughter Alyssa Beach. She also leaves behind The England-Ralston family and her peers at Kitsap Mental Health Services. She was preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Emily Cancino and brother Gilbert Cancino. There will be a family gathering at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton, Washington on October 6, 2023, from 10am to 12pm. The family would like for attendees to wear baseball attire to celebrate Grenda and her love for the sport. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton, Washington.
