Gaunce ''Don'' Gallup, age 77, died Saturday, April 6, 2002 at his home in Bremerton. Don was born to Hanford Roland Taylor and Anna Laura (McDonald) Gallup in Ferdale, WA on March 31, 1925. Don grew up in the Bellingham area, graduating from Bellingham High School. He went to work for General Motors, Delco Division and retired in 1984. He was actively involved with the Masonic Lodge, becoming a member of Whatcom Lodge #151 in his early years. After moving to California, Don became a member of Garden Grove Lodge #586, and Shriner Temple #4693. After moving to Bremerton, Don was named a life member of Bremerton Valley Scottish Rite. A daughter, Leanna Matthews and her husband James of Cassel, CA; two sons, David and George Gallup, both of Texas; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three sisters, Grace Blanger of Bremerton, WA, Bonnie Brooks and her husband Frank and Arbutus Kendall, all of Bellingham; and his niece, Joan Bauer of Bremerton, survive him. Don's cremated remains will be inurned at Bayview Cemetery, Bellingham, WA at a later date.
