Frans Julius Sundbom Obituary (1910

Frans Julius Sundbom (Frank), 99, passed away May 8 in Seabeck. The son of Robert and Carolina Sundbom, Frank was born in Minnesota on Sep 27, 1910. He completed trade school to become a mechanic. He worked as an airline mechanic then as an auto mechanic, which was the career he loved for 50 years. Frank and Ruth also enjoyed many years fishing the northern Minnesota lakes. His passion was gardening, especially vegetable gardening. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; sons, Roger and Rallin; and grandson, Dean Welander. He is survived by sons, Vern (Marilyn) of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Roy (Belle) of Duluth, MN; daughters, Joyce Welander (Art) of Stillwater, MN, Phyllis Sheldon (Warren) of Reese, MI, Carole Bonneville (Mike) of Boise, ID, and Sharon Stefnik (Herman) of Seabeck, WA; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A funeral service for Frank will be held at 10 am Fri, May 14 at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton, followed by a graveside service at 12 pm at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Port Townsend, WA.
