Eloda Bernice Evjen Obituary (1926

Eloda Bernice Evjen was born on a Terry, Montana wheat ranch on Sept. 15, 1926 to Chris and Emma Evjen. She passed away at Martha & Mary Nursing Home on June 4, 2011 with her family by her side. In 1933 Eloda moved to Washington with her family, where she grew up and attended school at the Old Miller Bay School House and North Kitsap High School. Eloda loved to travel and lived in Florida, Montana, Alaska and Whitehorse, Yukon, finally returning to Washington to be near her family and friends. Eloda loved to camp and fish and she was an avid crafter. She was an incredible seamstress, often creating her own patterns. She sewed everything from wedding dresses to Barbie clothes. She was a painter, beader, knitter and crocheter and at one time owned her own "Doll shop". She enjoyed playing cards and games with her many friends. Eloda was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Emma Evjen and her brother Kenneth John Evjen. She is survived by her three sisters, Elaine Brazeau, Martha Lund, Mary Balderson and her brother George Evjen. Also surviving are her five children, Barbara Brouillard, Leroy Dixon, Dale Dixon, Janice Strong and Gloria Price. Eloda has 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and leaves behind a host of family and friends. Services will be held on June 11, 2011 at The Stone Chapel Poulsbo Mortuary at 1:00pm with a reception to follow. Graveside service will be at Kingston Cemetery at 3:30pm. We will miss you "Bunny", dear mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend.
