Charles Quentin Napier Obituary (1937

Charles Quentin Napier Sr., 76, SSGT, Retired USAF, passed away on February 20, 2014 at his home in Bremerton, WA. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth (Deemer). His son Charles Q. Napier Jr., his daughters Lorrie K. De Rouen and Michelle R. Foster. 2 Sons-in-law, David A De Rouen and Jeffrey M Foster, a daughter-in-law Pamela R Napier, 3 Granddaughters, 7 grandsons, 7 great-granddaughters, 9 great-grandsons, Sisters Lisa Sedgwick and Dorothy Stuck, and a brother Donald Turner, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Charles was born September 21, 1937 in Seghers Oregon, Alvin and Maryhelen (Tolson) Napier. He enlisted in the United States Army from September 1954- September 1957 in the Army Corp of Engineers. In April 1958, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served 17 years as s firefighter. In April 1960, he married his sweetheart, Ruthanne Deemer, at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. Charles served his country with tours in Vietnam, Panama, Japan, Korea, and many locations throughout the United States. The most talked about was F. E. Warren AFB, in Cheyenne WY. It was there that he enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time outdoors with his family. After retiring from the military, Charles continued to serve his country in the civil service at Fort Lewis WA as a firefighter (December 1976-October1982) and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a NESCOM Dispatcher and at the supply center (January 1986-April 1996). After 36 years of services to his country, Charles enjoyed spending his time with his wife, children and many grandchildren, to whom he instilled honor, value, patriotism, integrity and the joy of life. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, World War II history, and old westerns. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Maryhelen (Tolson) Napier, a sister Laura Summy, and a granddaughter, Tera Nicole De Rouen. Arrangements entrusted to Lewis Chapel, Bremerton WA. A viewing will be February 27, 2014 from 5-7 pm with a service on February 28 at 1 pm both to at Lewis Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Fallen Firefighters Association
