Catharine M. White Obituary (1916

Catharine M. White, 91, of Bremerton, WA passed away on April 6th. Catharine was born in Seattle, WA on October 11, 1916. Catharine attended grade school in Mt. Vernon and Everett and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1934 in Seattle. She attended college and graduated from Seattle Pacific University and the University of Washington with a B.A. Degree. She met her husband Stewart B. White in Gig Harbor, WA. They married on April 30, 1944 at Brighton Presbyterian Church in Seattle. They moved to Bremerton in 1945. After teaching in Gig Harbor, Sunnydale in King Co., Shoreline and 25 years in Bremerton, she retired from the Bremerton School District in 1975. Catharine was a member of the Rainbow Girls and a life member in Reliance Chapter O.E. Star. She was a retired teacher and a Delta Kappa Gamma. Catharine enjoyed traveling in Europe and spending winters in Arizona. She also enjoyed singing in choir, knitting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart of 47 years in 1991; sisters, Elizabeth Mulligan and Marian M. Hart; and brother, Robert Stewart. Catharine is survived by her sons, William S. White and his wife Janice of Helena, MT and Thomas P. White and his wife Cindy of St. Charles, MI. A memorial service will held at the Summit Ave Presbyterian Church in Bremerton, Saturday, April 12th at 1:00pm. Interment is private at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
