Beulah Adah Butts Obituary (1908

Beulah Adah Canright Butts, 97, died on Thursday, March 30, 2006 in Port Orchard, WA. She was born on November 26, 1908 to Clifton L. & Adah May (Hall) Canright in Battle Creek, MI. After her mothers death in September of 1909 she was adopted by Charles & Alma Hannant. The family then moved to what is now SE Portland, OR. Beulah was crippled with Polio at 18 month, so she was disabled all her life. Beulah was married to Alvy Eugene Butts between 1925 & 1939. In 1934 she became a born-again christian of the pentecostal faith. She taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She and her brother Clifton bought a house together in Sunnyslope in Port Orchard, WA where she was his homemaker for 40 years until his marriage in 1978. She co-pastored with her brother for 5 years, and was president, secretary-treasurer, and historian for several groups. She also organized a quilting group and class in 1974. Beulah has been a member of the Belfair Assembly of God since 1978. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews, great grand nieces & nephews; loving and faithful friends including the Edward Mosier, Haman, Levar, Elston, Davies, and Asemcio families, & especially the Ray Healey family. She is preceded in death by her sister Medah Canright-Laturus; and brothers L.J. Canright and Clifton O. Canright-Horton.
