Ann Fredericksen

–

Poulsbo, Washington

Anna “Ann” Marie Padden Fredericksen, age 93, passed away on December 30, 2025, in
Poulsbo, Washington. She was born in Seattle, Washington, to Geneva Stinson Padden and William Howard Padden, and graduated from Sammamish High School in 1952.

Ann married Allan Fredericksen on August 28, 1954. Together they raised their family at the Fredericksen family homestead in Big Valley, where they shared many years of life before Allan’s passing in December of 2016.

Ann worked for many years at Martha & Mary, first as a nurse’s aide and later as a physical therapy aide. Her work reflected her caring nature and steady commitment to helping others.

She was deeply involved at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church, where she taught CCD and was a
longtime member of the SOS, a women’s group that prepared wedding and funeral
receptions for parish families. Her faith was an important part of her life and was lived
through service and quiet dedication.

Ann was proud of her Irish heritage and cherished family traditions. She was well known for her large vegetable garden, which became a family effort each year. The garden had to be planted before anyone could head off to Viking Fest. She took great pride in preserving what she grew, canning and freezing what wasn’t eaten fresh. Her homemade dill pickles and sauerkraut were especially loved and fondly remembered.

Family was always at the center of Ann’s life. Birthdays were never overlooked and were
always celebrated together, whether for children or adults. For many years, Ann was the
glue that held the family together, creating connection, continuity, and a deep sense of
belonging.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Fredericksen; her sons, Kevin and
Matthew Fredericksen; her son-in-law, Michael Rice; her grandson-in-law, Brent Hancock;
four siblings; and five nieces.

She is survived by her children: Cynthia Rice; Andrew Fredericksen Sr. (Amy); and Charlie
Fredericksen (Jennifer), along with daughter-in-law Camille. She is also survived by her
grandchildren: Shawn, Sarah, Melissa, Luke, Jarek, Jesse, Andrew Jr., Lindsey, Chance,
Mason, and Mary, as well as nine great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church, 18943 Caldart Avenue Northeast, Poulsbo, Washington 98370, on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
