Woodrow Wilson Krotzer Obituary (1917

Woody (93), was born in Port Angeles, WA to Walter Edward Krotzer and Jessie Maude "Fisher." After graduation, Woody left Port Angeles at the age of 17 to join the CCC camp at Deception Pass on Whidby Island. He later moved to Seattle to work at the glamorous Olympic Hotel as an elevator operator. After he met and married Eleanor (Nonie) Elizabeth Kelly, his travels took them to Grand Coulee Dam where he worked as a surveyor on the second power station. During World War II, Woody Joined the Navy and spent much of that time in the Philippines as a commincation repair tech. After the war, he returned to Tacoma where he opened and operated Western Radio and TV for over 20 yrs. After the sale of his business in the mid-1960s, Woody went to work for PSNS and then on to Keyport. In 1981, he retired from Keyport as a marine electrician. After retiring, Woody had more time to enjoy the activities he loved ... motorcycles, hiking, sailing, hunting, fishing, cycling, off-roading, exploring the country including years in Arizona and of course square dancing. Woody's family was truly blessed by his enthusiastic love of life ... he taught his family to embrace and live life to its fullest. Woody was preceded in death by his brother Francis Krotzer, his sister Delphea Summers and his wife, Nonie, of over 50 years. Woody leaves behind his longtime companion Norma Reid, where he spent many of his days and some of his most cherished moments at the Oyster Bay home with her, family and friends. Woody also leaves behind his son James and (Mary) Krotzer of Poulsbo, his daughter Sally Trummert of Tumwater, his son Joseph and (Lisa) Krotzer of Poulsbo. He also left behind 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Woody's claim to fame was, anyone who met him truly liked him. He captivated others and will be remembered by his knowledge, dry humor and his endless sense of adventure. He will be missed and always in our hearts. "Thanks Dad for always putting us first, teaching us well and you're right ... we can fix that." As his companion we had some of the best times in the last few years together. I will miss him as will everyone else, whose lives he touched. We all love you. There will be a gathering at Mountain View Cemetery on August 6th at 1 p.m. There will be a celebration of life at Norma's Oyster Bay house at 3 p.m. to share our stories.
