Trude Onzel Gilman, Sr. Obituary (1922

Trude Onzel Gilman, 86, of Bremerton died October 3, 2008 at his home. He was born April 2, 1922 in Homedale, Idaho to Charles and Blanche (McDowell) Gilman. On August 7, 1940, Trude married Ruby in Twin Falls, Idaho. Trude served in the Pacific during WWII with the Marine Corps. Trude was a cook, bartender, lumberjack, auto mechanic, trapper and ditch rider for the Gem District. Trude was a member of VFW #4992, American Legion Post #149, Disabled American Veteran's, International Assoc. of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. He served as fair coordinator for the Kitsap Mineral and Gem Society and was a trustee at Chico Missionary Alliance Church. Trude enjoyed collecting coins and stamps. He was a rock hound who will be remembered as an "all around good guy." He was preceded in death by his mother, father, 2 sisters and his wife. Trude is survived by his sons Terry (JoAnne), Trude, Jr. (Elaine) and his grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Chico Missionary Alliance Church, Oct. 10, 2008 at 3PM. Memorials can be given toChico Missionary Alliance Church or Hospice of Kitsap County.
