Saul VanBuren Sr. Obituary (1949

Saul VanBuren Sr., a resident of Silverdale, Washington, passed away on October 23, 2024, at the age of 75 in Silverdale, Washington. Saul was born on April 27, 1949, in Harrisonburg, Louisiana to Gilbert VanBuren Sr. and Lucinda VanBuren (Minor). He was a graduate of Harrisonburg High School in Harrisonburg, Louisiana. Saul worked as a carpenter foreman and transmission specialist for 50 years before retiring. He was also a construction worker for 19 years. He married his wife JoAnn VanBuren (Bruton) on May 9, 1971, in Pocoima, California. Saul enjoyed dominos, spades, listening to music, cooking and spending time with family. Saul is survived by his wife of 53 years JoAnn VanBuren, sons Saul VanBuren Jr. of Houston, Texas, Daniel VanBuren of Bremerton, Washington, Tyrone VanBuren of Tacoma, Washington and Thomas VanBuren of Lakewood, Washington, daughter Kesha Kandow (Joe) of Bremerton, Washington, and brothers James VanBuren and Mark VanBuren both of California as well as twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many friends and other family members in California, Louisiana, Texas and Washington State. He was preceded in death by parents Gilbert VanBuren Sr. and Lucinda VanBuren, brothers Gilbert Jr., Joe Louis, Albert Earl Sr., Sam, and Donald Ray and sisters Mattie and Mini Pearl. There will be a viewing and funeral service on November 19, 2024, at Sylvan Way Baptist Church in Bremerton, Washington. Viewing at 11am, service at noon and both will be followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton, Washington at 2pm.
