Richard "Rick" Clinton Butts Obituary (1948

Richard "Rick" Clinton Butts passed away on August 19, 2023, in Silverdale, Washington, at the age of 75. He was born on August 3, 1948, in Wenatchee, Washington to Theodore "Buzz" and Faye Butts (Akers). Rick attended and graduated from Entiat High School in Entiat, Washington and went on to graduate from University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. He married his wife Carol Butts (Gere) on November 19, 1977, in Bellevue, Washington. He was a long time Tracyton, Washington resident and enjoyed his community. Rick was self-employed in property management and building maintenance for 40 years before retiring. Rick loved his family, the Seahawks, UW Husky Football, the Mariners, reading westerns and collecting. He truly enjoyed any time with his grandkids. They brought smiles to his face on the sports field, in the classroom, or when they were wrestling in the living room! Rick is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Carol Butts, daughters Erin Iverson (DeWayne Campbell) and Kristin Seevers (Jeremy), sister Karen Morgan (Don) and brother Michael Butts. He also leaves behind 8 amazing grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Buzz and Faye Butts and his son Ryan Butts. At Rick's request there will be no public services held. His family will honor his memory privately. Rick's greatest joy came from family. He felt taking his entire family on an Alaskan Cruise in August of 2022 was one of his greatest accomplishments. We, his family, agree! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society in Rick's name. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton, Washington.
