Norma Lavaughn Austin-Peters

Norma L. Austin-Peters age 83, of Bremerton died at her home August 29, 2005. She was born February 5, 1922 in Ogallala, Nebraska to Brunce and Grace (Bame) Davison. Norma graduated with the class of 1940 from Ogallala High School. First and foremost Norma was a devoted homemaker and mother. She also worked as a baker for the Bremerton School District Lunch Program. She enjoyed square dancing for the last 50 years, gardening, music and traveling. Norma was a Lutheran. She was preceded in death by her husband George Austin, sister Alta Hyde and granddaughter Kari Lynn Nelson. She is survived by her daughters Georgia and husband Bruce Nelson of Bremerton; Norma J. and husband Mike Perlmutter of Orange Park, Florida; sister Marylu Tignor Arnold of Atoka, Oklahoma; sister-in-laws Ella Austin of Olympia, WA; Gladys Bauermeister of Lakewood, WA and Mary Hubbard of Kalispell, MT; grandchildren Kurt and wife Diane Nelson, Jim and wife Leah Cigler, Jodi and husband Scott Ferrell and Vanda Baker; 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Charles Jones of Bremerton, WA. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Kitsap County, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research or The Red Cross to provide assistance for the victims of Hurricane Katrina
