Nolen Cox Obituary (1927

Nolen Cox, 81, of Belfair passed away on September 1st at his home in Belfair. He was born June 12, 1927 in Ozark, AR to Crawford and Gladys (Newport) Cox. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He and Ruby J. Thomas were married on April 25, 1952 in Yakima, WA. Nolen worked on the construction of Wanapum and Priest Rapids Dams and later as a pipe fitter at PSNS retiring in 1984. He loved to fish, hunt, camp, rock hunt, and travel. Nolen's family was very important to him and he loved each of them very much. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Cox of Belfair, daughters, Gladys Flournoy (Ray) of San Antonio, TX, Marilyn Harman (JR Taylor) of Bellevue, Brenda Romans (Danny) of Port Orchard, 13 grandchildren, Celeste Solano, Monica Bower, Shawna Wolbrueck, Joseph Plata, John Flournoy, Nicole Plata, Derrick Plata, Brandon Ryon, Casandra Anderson, Elysa Romans, Tara Romans, Melissa Cox, Brittney Cox, 19 great grandchildren, and extended family, Nadine Bordeaux, Barabara Maloney, Cindy & Jason Keatts. Nolen was preceded in death by his sisters Zelma Walters, and Juanita Villarin, brother Doyle Cox and son Wesley Nolen Cox.
