Marvin L. Stohs, Sr. Obituary (1940

Marvin L. Stohs, Sr., 81, passed away on January 19, 2022. Born on October 30, 1940 in Polk, NE to John and Lydia (Holtz) Stohs, he attended schools in Grafton NE, Baldwin IL and Scribner NE. Marvin went on to graduate from Scribner High School. He enlisted in the US Navy, serving from 1958-1980, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam War. He was stationed out of Hawaii for 12 years, Sasebo Bay Japan for 6 years, and San Diego. Following his navy service, he worked at Kitsap County over 25 years as an environmental engineer until his retirement. In his spare time, Marvin enjoyed deep sea fishing, sailing his sailboat, traveling all over the world on cruises, working on stock cars, interfacing with friends on the internet, and working on personal projects. Marvin's memory will live on with his sons, Marvin, Jr. (Margo), Martin, and Melvin; brother, Dr. Sidney (Dr. Edeth) of Frisco, TX; sister, Donna (Dr. Sudesh) Makker of Davis, CA; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Laura Baker and Jane Slach. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wesley and his former wife Mona. Services will be private at Tahoma National Cemetery.
