Lewis "Bud" Ayer Obituary (1929

Lewis (Bud) Ayer passed away peacefully in his sleep at home. He was a wonderful husband for 51 years and a great dad. He enlisted in the Navy at 17 years old and served 24 years as an E-9 to O-3 Lt. Retired with a 2 year old and 12 year old. He then went on to Keyport and retired as a Planner and Estimator's Supervisor. He had a total of 42 years in government service. One of his greatest accomplishments was keeping the Kitty Hawk from going aground during Vietnam. He was a good man and will be missed greatly. Bud was preceded in death by a grandson Douglas Mueller. He is survived by his wife Shirley, a son James, a daughter Terri (Alfred) Churchill, a grandson Tyler Churchill and a grand dog Rebar. A memorial service will be held on April 3rd at 2pm at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church 1015 Veneta Ave, Bremerton, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity. The family would like to thank Dr. Penn, Dr. Steele, Dr. Gill, Dr. Tinker and their staff, Harrison Hospital doctors and nurses, Northwoods and their staff, Hospice of Kitsap County for all their care.
