Leonie Bertha Chittenden-Farsje Obituary (1922

Leonie Chittenden-Farsje passed away on November 1, 2012 in Bremerton at the age of 90. Leonie was born in Gulfport, Miss. and attended schools in Bremerton and Seattle. She was employed in the Fiscal (accounting) Dept. at PSNS and The Bremerton Sun Newspaper. Leonie is preceded in death by her husbands, Capt. John Arthur Chittenden, USN and Wilbur Farsje, head of the Western division of Puget Sound Power and Light and son John M. Chittenden. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Active in YLI, Altar Society, CCO, parish choir, orthopedic guild, PEO, scouts, PTA, Republican Women, Sons of Norway, duplicate bridge club, Navy Relief, Navy Officers Wives Club, Travel, and Red Cross Volunteer. Leonie had many interests including her family, modeling, interior design, antiques, rug braiding, gardening and bridge. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen Marseille-Simpson and Jeanne Jones, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and family members in France. A rosary will take place on Wed., Nov. 14, 2012 at 10:30am with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
