Kathryne Ann King Obituary (1935

(Kathyrne King herself composed the following) Kathyrne King 07-17-1935 to 12-10-2002 (Age 67) Married in 1950 (50th anniversary in June 2000). I had three children. I had various jobs-- then my husband and I went into business for ourselves until my husband retired, then I did adult care for a number of years. I have always been active and on the go. I have worked hard. My husband, children, family and home have always been my priority. We have a beautiful, big (3000 sq. ft.) home and an area of lawns, shrubs and flowerbeds that I maintain. I enjoy entertaining and have large parties during the holidays. I love to cook and bake and I have family and friends here. I have never drank liquor or used illegal drugs. We have always done a lot of traveling, camping, hiking, etc. I have been taking care of my great granddaughter since March 2001 (she was two months old). I was caring for her daytimes, but had to slack off lately (she's 15 months old now and very active). My mother stays with us during the winter, six months at a time. She is 88 years old. She can take care of her personal needs, but still a lot of work for me, laundry, meals, housework, etc. I try to take care of myself. My old bad habit is that I smoke cigarettes. (Kathryne's family composed the following) Kathryne Ann Christensen was born July 17, 1935 at Chrystal Springs Dairy in St. Maries, Idaho, to Marian (Bragington-Cleary) and Chris L. Christensen. She married John D. King on June 3, 1950 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They made their first home in Avery, Idaho, then Moscow, Idaho and Colfax, Washington. They moved to Bremerton in 1960. Then in 1974 they moved to Poulsbo, Washington, where they owned and managed Kings Auto Body Repair until retiring. In 2000 they moved to East Bremerton. Kathy and John were very active in the Olympic Vintage Auto Club, with their many antique vehicles. She was active in many clubs, including PTA, Homemakers, Pinochle, and Birthday FC. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, and her family. She was periodically employed as an adult caregiver. She is survived by her husband, John King; sons John-Michael (Donna) King of Bremerton, Washington and Steven King of Kingston, Washington; a daughter, Judy Marie (Skip) Gilson of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren Christopher, Adrian, Jennifer, Rebecca, and Janet; and one great-granddaughter Alexis. Her mother, Marian Rand of St. Marines, Idaho; sisters Margaret (JB) Pierce of Augusta, Georgia; Connie (Dave) Hanley of St. Maries, Idaho; brother Karl (Bernie) Christensen of Benton City, Washington, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
