June Hamiel Paulsen Obituary (1923

June Hamiel Paulsen, 85, died from complications due to pneumonia May 7, 2009 in Bremerton, WA. She was born November 4, 1923 to Jay Henry and Clella Arline (Myers) Hamiel in Dallas Center, IA. June graduated from secondary schools in Woodward and Adel, IA prior to attending Iowa State University. On March 18, 1944 she married Harold "Bud" Alfred Paulsen, Jr. in San Marcos, TX. June worked as a secretary for the Colorado State University College of Forestry and Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, CO. She was active with the Silverdale Lutheran Church, PEO, Delta Zeta Sorority, and Forestry Triangle. She enjoyed corresponding with her friends and family by email, spending time with her grandchildren, and interacting with the staff at Clearbrook Inn and Montclair Park. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud who passed away in 2005; and daughter Karen Paulsen Brand. June is survived by sons Craig (Kelly) Paulsen of Port Orchard, WA, and Jay (Penny) Paulsen of Bainbridge Island, WA; son-in-law, John Brand of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren - Jessica, Sarah, Joshua, Malia, and Micah; great-grandson Mason, and one great-grandchild expected in July. A memorial service is being planned for June 6, 2009 at Silverdale Lutheran Church.
