John Bochnovich, Jr. Obituary (1942

CWO2 John Bochnovich Jr., USN retired, born October 9, 1942 in New Brunswick, NJ passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024 in Bremerton, WA at the age of 81. He is survived by his daughters, Michele Burns (Jeremy) of Florida, Renee Bochnovich (Sean Carr) of Colorado, brother Richard Bochnovich (Debra) of Florida, grandson Luke Ryan, and nephew Andrew Bochnovich. He also had a brother Michael Bochnovich. John was preceded in death by his parents John Bochnovich Sr and Margaret Bochnovich McNeill. John was proud of his 20 year military career, retiring in 1980 as the ordnance officer in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He married Vigdis Eriksen in 1969 and their 23 year union produced his two beloved daughters Michele and Renee. John moved his family to Kitsap County in 1980 and enjoyed a second rewarding career retiring from General Dynamics. John enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life; reading, stamp collecting, gardening, hunting, fishing, and entertaining friends and family. He was also a proud member of the Fleet Reserve Branch 29 and leaves behind lifelong friends; his vibrant personality and sense of humor will be missed. John lived at Bridgeview Care the last 2 years of his life; the family wishes to thank the staff for their care and support, along with his friends who continued to visit and lift his spirits. Arrangements entrusted to Lewis Chapel, in lieu of flowers the family suggests making a donation in John's name to the Veterans charity of your choice.
