Irvin (Red) Lyle Hughes In loving memory of Irvin Lyle (Red) Hughes, 97, born of Ernest and Edith (Somes) Hughes in Saint Maries, Idaho, on April 23, 1926. Beloved father of Rocky Hughes and wife Christine of Albuquerque, NM, Lynn A. Hughes and wife Donna of Silverdale, WA. Uncle to Dwight Hughes and wife Lorinda of Whitebird, ID, Grandfather of 6, Geoffrey Hughes of Fort Worth, TX, Sarah McKamey of Albuquerque, NM, Samantha Marcus, Albuquerque, NM, Scott Hughes, Albuquerque, NM, Jessica Turner, Seattle, WA, and Anna Duran of Las Vegas, NV. Great Grandfather of 14. Red served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a tail gunner in a B24 Liberator Bomber. After the war he was employed at PSNS. Red owned and operated Hughes Carpet Sales and Service on Wheaton Way for 10 years with wife Jeanne Hughes. The Hughes' generously supported their sons through their years at North Perry Peewees, Eastside Boys Club and East High School. He spent the rest of his long life fixing things as a General Contractor. His way was the "Only Way" and of course the "Right Way." He was loved and admired by many but will be missed by all. Say hello to mom. Red's Celebration of life will take place on May 11, 2024, at the Elks Lodge in East Bremerton on Pine Road at 3pm. Red along with wife Jeanne will be Interred in Saint Maries, Idaho, in the family plot.
