Hazel Beulah (Griffith) Crane Obituary (1923

Hazel Beulah (Griffith) Crane, 89, of Bremerton, WA passed away on February 12, 2013. Hazel was born on May 25, 1923 in Kanopolis, KS to Truman Attle and Iva Matilda Griffith and is a direct descendent of David Livingston. Growing up in Calumet, OK, Hazel attended El Reno Christian Church, attended Center Grove School; graduated from El Reno High School in 1940 and graduated McCullum's Business School. Living in El Reno, Hazel met, Earl Miller. In 1942, Hazel married Earl and had two children; daughter, Karen Sue (who died as a toddler) and son, Richard Wheelis. Earl later died in WWII. On August 10, 1945, Hazel married Aubrey H.C. Crane. Hazel's first job placed her at the local phone company; Hazel in 1955 went to work for a Bone and Joint Hospital for 20 years, as a PBX Operator, Receptionist. Hazel opened Hazel's Bridal Boutique in 1970, in Midwest City. She was a lifetime member of Midwest City Chapter 491 and Reliance Chapter 70 Order of The Eastern Star. Hazel is preceded in death by her husband Aubrey; her parents; and siblings, Lawrence, Floyd, Edward, Gene and Carol Ann, but her memory will live on with daughters, Cheryl Jean O'Shields of New Port Richey, FL; Donna Gayle Peterman-Altig of Bremerton, WA and Mary Alliene Martin of Midwest City, OK; son, Richard Wheelis; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Services for Hazel will be held in Midwest City, OK. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16th at 2:30pm at First Christian Church in Bremerton.
