Halbert Lee Bernhardt Obituary (1930

Halbert Lee Bernhardt, 77, of Bremerton, passed away on July 30th of Alzheimer's. He was born on Jan. 16, 1930 to Merle and Gertrude (Houghton) Bernhardt in Bremerton. Halbert graduated from Bremerton High School in 1948, Olympic College in 1960 and University of Washington in 1962. He married Marian (Miller) Bernhardt on June 23, 1950 in Bremerton. Mr. Bernhardt worked at a Marine Engineer for at PSNS and NAVSEA in Washington DC, before retiring after 36 years of service in 1985. After retiring, Halbert worked for Rosenblatt and Son, in Washington DC, as a government contractor from 1985 until 1991. Halbert was a member of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed square dancing, camping and RVing. He was preceded in death by his sister Merle Medows in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Marian of Bremerton; sons Tim (Lorraine) of Gordonsville, VA, Don (Faye) of Bremerton, WA and three grandchildren: Lisa, Bill, and Tom. A memorial service will be held, August 6, 2007, 11AM at the Elks Lodge, 4131 Pine Rd. NE, Bremerton.
