Gladys Irene (Rule) Jeffries Obituary (1923

Gladys Irene (Rule) Jeffries, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, April 14, 2014 at Franciscan Hospice House in Tacoma WA. She was born in Crystal, MI to Zacharia and Florence Rule on March 7, 1923. She graduated from Crystal High School in 1941. Gladys then met Lloyd George Jeffries who lived in Seattle WA. Gladys and Jeff were married in Crystal MI on May 19, 1945. Gladys and Jeff raised their family in North Seattle before moving to their Hood Canal property in 1973 to build their dream house with that spectacular view of Hood Canal and the Olympic Mts. They could harvest oysters, clams, crab and salmon from their beach as well as watch eagles, porpoise, seals and submarines going by from their deck. Gladys lost her beloved Jeff on March 25, 1989 and continued to live in their Hood Canal home until just before her death. She was also preceded in death by siblings Carl, Lloyd, Trudy and Rha. She is survived by her children, Barbara (David), Robert (Linda) and Steven (Priscilla), 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, as well as her loving family and good friends in WA, OR, MT and MI. A celebration of Gladys's life will be held this August. Gladys Irene, you will truly be missed!
