Elviner C. Bridges Obituary (1927

Elviner C. Bridges of Bremerton, Washington (formerly of Boiling Springs, North Carolina) passed away from complications due to a heart attack on March 3, 2004 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton. She was 76 years of age. She was born July 10, 1927 in the No. 2 Township of Cleveland County, North Carolina to Grady P. and Bessie S. (Emery) Cooper. She married Daniel M. Bridges on March 29, 1947 in Gaffney, South Carolina. He preceded her in death in 1970. She was employed by the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company of Shelby, North Carolina for 25 years until her retirement in 1986. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitch, cooking, camping, RV travel with family, flowers and gardening. She was affiliated with the southern Baptist faith. She was an excellent cook that loved her family! Survivors include son Joe P. Bridges and his wife, Pamela, of Bremerton; six grandchildren, Daniel Bridges and his wife, Theresa, Ryan Bridges and his wife, Jasmine, Stephanie Tincher and her husband, Nathan, Alicia Yarbrough and her husband, Roger, Peggy Henderson and her husband, Robbie, and Grady J. Cochran; five great-grandchildren, Dylan and Matthew Ross, Austin Henderson, Loryn Tincher, and Perry R. and Jenni Bridges; five step-grandchildren, Christian Hunt, Keri and T.J. Hester, and Nicole and Eric Tincher; brother Grady Cooper, Jr.; and three sisters, Ila Mae Cooper, Eloise Thornton, and Ozie Hamrick. In addition to her husband, daughter Mary Jane Cochran; three brothers, Houston, Claude and John Cooper; and two sisters, Edith Gray and Marie Tyner, preceded her in death. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, 4414 Woodland Park Avenue North, Seattle, Washington 98103-7499.
