David Walter DuBois

–

Bremerton, Washington

David Walter DuBois, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away January 26, 2019, at his home, following a year-long battle with the recurrence of his lymphoma. He was born June 12, 1943 in Van Nuys, CA, to Walter P. and Laura Catherine "Blendine" DuBois. Upon graduation from James Monroe High School in San Fernando Valley, Dave joined the Navy and served honorably for four years. He married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Keeton in 1965. After obtaining an Associates Degree in electronics from Los Angeles Valley College in Van Nuys, CA, they moved to Silverdale in 1967, and he went to work at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Later, he transferred to the Trident Refit Facility when it opened, and retired in 2002 after 39 years of government service.

Dave and Liz enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling and driving their MGs. Dave was active in the MG community, helping other owners solve problems with their cars. He developed a solid state upgrade or 'fix' for the fuel pumps that grew into a successful retirement business. He was a member of the Elks and the Eagles where he and Liz danced as often as there was good music.

David is survived by his wife, Liz of 53 years; their children, David Jr. (Jenn) of Seven Valleys, PA, and Susan Colombo of Puyallup; three grandchildren; and by his sisters Trish White of Bangor, MI, Irene Havens of Victoria, B.C., and Elizabeth DuBois of Watsonville, CA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the YWCA of Kitsap County, or to the Bremerton Foodline.

Arrangements entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel. A private graveside service will be held.
