Charles S. Patterson Obituary (1935

Charles S. Patterson of Belfair WA passed away on March 28, 2004 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton. He was 68 years of age. Charles was born in Tracyton, WA on October 3, 1935 to Clifford and Helen (Reynolds) Patterson and was the second youngest of 11 children. He attended Central Kitsap Schools and earned his GED in 1996. On August 18, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart Marcia Lee Dillon. His favorite hobby was telling stories of his experiences working in Alaska on the pipeline, truck driving and which rock he delivered to which home. As a teenager, he picked hops in the fields of Oregon and did a variety of jobs for his older brothers. As a yound man, he owned his own gas station in Silverdale. Later he worked as an auto mechanic, as well as a truck driver on the Alaska pipeline, a cement truck driver for Kenyon Materials, a landscape supply driver for Olmstead Landscaping, and most recently, as a carrier for The Sun. His favorite comment being, "I had a paper route when I was 12, now I have one at 68!" Charles is survived by his daughter Lori Patterson and grandson George both of Belfair; one brother, Llyod Patterson (Gilda) of Bremerton; one sister, Morna Blessing (Bill) of Bremerton; and numerous neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marcia of 46 years in 2002, Daughter Linda Lee in 1971, his brothers Frank, Claude, Francis, Carl, Bob, Jim, and sisters, Esther Stewart and Barbara Sleiertin. A private graveside service will be held at Tracyton Cemetery and a memorial service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2004 at the Brownsville United Methodist Church at 8811 Illahee Rd, Bremerton, WA 98311 Memorial donations may be sent to this address as well.
