Catherine ''Katie'' Louise Stewart Obituary (1936

Catherine ''Katie'' Louise Stewart, age 66, passed away at Belmont Terrace, Bremerton, WA, Tuesday morning, July 16, 2002. She was born May 23, 1936 in Pomona, CA to Bryce and Ida (Drumm) Frederick one of five children. Katie was raised in the Southern California area, completing her education in San Bernardino, CA. One of the things that Katie was most proud of was her ability to reach out to those with Alzheimers and to provide a warm and loving atmosphere for them in which to live. It was very difficult for Katie when she realized it was time for her to enter a new phase in her life that did not include being a caregiver. Over the years, Katie was involved with the Seattle Eagles and a longtime member of the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton. When time permited, Katie loved to knit. There were no strangers in Katie's life, just friends she had not met yet. Katie is survived by her sons John Bradbury of Bremerton and Charles of California, brother; Bruce Frederick and wife Bev of Bremerton, WA, sisters; Carolyn Rogers and husband Bill of California, Cecilia Welsh and husband Steve of Selah, WA and sister in heart Donna Rae Fortney and husband Jack of Kansas as well numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Katie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bryce Frederick, Jr. There was viewing Friday, July 19, 2002 from 8:30 until 9:30 AM at the Lewis Funeral Chapel. A Rosary was recited Friday morning, July 19, 2002 at 10:30 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, which was followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. The service then concluded. On Saturday, July 20, 2002 at 11:30 AM, a Graveside Committal was held at Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima, WA.
