Captain Donald Keith Obituary (1936

Captain Donald Keith lost his struggle with prostate cancer at age 77. Born in 1936, Captain Keith enlisted in the Navy in 1954. In Vietnam he was selected to join the officer ranks via the Limited Duty Officer program as an Ensign in the Civil Engineer Corps. He went on to attain the rank of Captain and assume command of the Atlantic fleet of construction battalions in 1987, an historic achievement for LDOs. He was awarded the bronze Star with Combat V and Legion of Merit medals among many others. Don was liked by his men, respected by his superiors, and loved by his family and many friends. He is survived by his brother Jerry, sister Mabel, his wife Imma, three sons Donald, Anthony and David, two grandchildren Shannon and Griffin. Memorial services will be held at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton Thursday, Oct. 31 at 2pm. Burial will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery Nov. 4 at 2:15pm.
