Callista Pomerene Harvey Obituary (1909

Callista Pomerene Harvey was born October 2, 1909, in Berlin, Ohio, to Dr. Myron B. and Florence (Maxwell) Pomerene. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgetown College, Kentucky, in 1931, majoring in biology and music. She worked in Columbus, Ohio at the Homeowners Loan Corporation, a Roosevelt New Deal program. She married Robert Emmett Harvey, Jr. on June 30, 1934. After living in Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, they settled in Hillsborough, California in 1952. She worked with her husband at their business, a sheet metal manufacturing company. She moved to Bremerton in 1993 after the death of her husband. She enjoyed reading, gardening, music, and meals at Pat's Cookie Jar with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Beth McConaughy, her son-in-law Richard McConaughy, her grandsons Robert McConaughy, wife Andrea and great-grandson Andrew, Bryan McConaughy and wife Tracy; also her sister Margaret Martin of Columbus, Ohio and brother-in-law Richard D. Harvey of Upper Montclair, New Jersey.
