Bernie Winchel Obituary (1954

Bernie Wichel, 54, of Poulsbo, passed away on August 6th at Harrison Medical Center. He was born December 25, 1954 to Virgil and Vera Winchel in Wadena, Saskatchewan, Canada. He proudly served in the US Navy and worked for Stan Palmer Construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Bernie enjoyed playing baseball, softball, spending time with his children, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, sister, Beatrice, and grandparents. Surviving are his mother, Vera Custer of Morgan Town, KY; beloved partner of 18 years, Heather Ledford of Poulsbo; children, BJ Winchel, and Lacie Winchel of Poulsbo; brother, Jerry Winchel of Morgan Town, KY; sisters, Kay Hinds of Morgan Town, KY, Betty Potter (Bob) of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Lynette Gurgel (Jr.) of Rock Springs, WI, Diane Robinson (Tom) of Lyndon Station, WI, several nieces and nephews, and many friends he had in the Poulsbo area. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any Bank of America, Bernie Winchel Memorial Fund.
