Audrey C. Medcalf Obituary (1929

Audrey C. Medcalf, 88, of Silverdale passed away on Nov. 6, 2017 as a result of a tragic accident. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; her husband, William; her daughter, Susan; her son, Douglas; and her granddaughter, Whitney. She is survived by her sons William and Thomas; her daughters Christine, Colleen and Cathleen; her step-daughter, Lisa; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Audrey was born on Jan. 20, 1929 at home in Antelope, MT. She moved to Poulsbo while she was a toddler. She graduated with the 1947 Class of North Kitsap High School. She also married Marine Corps Private First Class, William W. Medcalf that year. They were blessed to have seven lovely children the following ten years. William and Audrey divorced in 1970, and were remarried in 1995 in Laughlin, NV. The loves of their lives. Audrey began her stellar career as an Analyst for the Department of Defense early in the 1960's, She was honored with many awards, and traveled frequently throughout her 30 years around the country and to Guam, Hawaii, and Japan on behalf of them. She had the pleasure of working at Naval Air Station, Bermuda for five years during the 1980's. She was particularly honored to be a POMFPAC Plank-Owner. She retired in 1994. Audrey and Bill then embraced the "Snow Bird" lifestyle for many years, wintering in Arizona and California. Their last home was in Silverdale, WA. A true Christian; she had the biggest smile and an open door and heart for her family and all the people who entered her life. She is loved, she is missed!
