Arne Lee Stadshaug Obituary (1946

Arne Lee Stadshaug (1946-2016), husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on November 19, 2016, with his family by his side. Arne was born in Bremerton, WA on July 16, 1946 son of Edwin P. and Lois L. Stadshaug (Kindall). The family moved to Poulsbo, WA where Arne grew up and attended K-12th grade, graduating from North Kitsap High School in 1964. Arne was drafted into the United States Army on August 2, 1966, serving in Germany, and received an honorable discharge August 1, 1968. Arne worked in Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, left work for General Supply, and Olympia Brewery before returning to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a Motor Vehicle Operator until his retirement in 2006. Arne married Lee Stadshaug (McDonald) on the Dosewallips River, a favorite family place. Arne and Lee were together for almost 35 years experiencing life's sweetest experiences hand in hand. One of the very best moments in Arne's life was the day his son Michael was born. On that special day he presented his very best gift to his son, a baseball and glove. Arne was always Michael's coach and biggest fan; supporting Michael in every single goal he pursued. While he taught him so much about sports growing up, he taught him even more about life. They were inseparable. Arne loved being around people. He had the most genuine laugh and smile and always had a way of making everyone feel important. Arne loved humming birds and enjoyed watching them. He believed when they'd drink from his feeder; it was his mom, dad, sister coming to visit. He was also a lover of dogs and found great joy in their unconditional love and companionship over the years. He enjoyed camping with family at the Dosewallips River and spending the Fourth of July at his brother and sister in laws cabin at Georgetown Lake, Montana, where he had a "standing room reservation" every time he came. Arne often referred to the cabin and lake as his "Heaven on Earth." He spent many years fly fishing on Georgetown Lake with his son, father in law, brother in laws, niece and nephews. Another very special place for Arne was the "Segerman Pond," where many special family gatherings have been held. One of Arne's most treasured times there was spending time on Thursday's with his sister Nancy and niece Ella. Arne loved his family very much. He loved spending time with them laughing and reminiscing over the fun times throughout their years together. Arne was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Lois; loving sister, Nancy Segerman. He is survived by his loving wife Lee, his son and best friend Michael (Kara), brothers Bob, Mark (Susan), brother in law Skip, father in law Francis McDonald Jr., mother in law Patricia Lemmon, and numerous brother and sister in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. We were blessed to have had Arne in our lives. His love, smile, laugh and joyful spirit will be with us always. "Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure; you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure." The family would like to thank Dr. Blackman, Dr. Jain, Dr. Brostoff, their nurses, the wonderful staff of Group Health Hospice, for their amazing care and support to Arne and family during this most difficult time. At this time, there are no formal services planned. A celebration of Arne's life will be held at a later date still TBD.
