Lewis Chapel and its branches provide personalized and meaningful services to meet the personal desires of hundreds of families every year. Though not a complete list of the services that can be provided, the following are several available.
A contemporary or religious ceremony that can be scheduled in the funeral home chapel. Traditionally, a pastor or celebrant is selected to conduct the chapel service. Families can include music, flowers, video tributes, military honors (for those that qualify) and picture boards. Public or private visitation can occur in the chapel or prior to the day of the service. A traditional chapel service can run from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on content. The Lewis Funeral Chapel can comfortably seat 300 people. The Stone Chapel can comfortably seat 165 people.
A religious ceremony that is conducted at a designated church. A church service is conducted by church clergy. Musical selections can be made, but are generally limited to religious selections. A church service is conducted according to the guidelines of the selected church. Families can select flower arrangements, military honors (for those that qualify). Depending on the church, public or private visitation may occur. Visitation prior to church services are an available option.
Is an outdoor service with a tent and 8 chairs for immediate family to sit while the service is performed. This type of service is traditionally conducted by a pastor or celebrant. The family can request to witness the lowering of the casket into the grave space or leave and not witness the lowering. Families can select flowers as needed. Military honors can be performed at the graveside (for those that qualify).
Is a burial in a cemetery without family being present. There are no formal or informal services at the gravesite. This type of burial is completed at the convenience of the cemetery the burial is taking place. Scheduled witnessed burial- Is a burial in a cemetery with family present. There are no formal or informal services. The family witnesses the burial from a distance for safety purposes. This type of burial is scheduled with the cemetery.
A service selection where the casket is not present. This type of service can be conducted by a pastor or celebrant. Music, flowers, military honors (for those that qualify), picture boards, video tributes and other options are available upon request. The Lewis Funeral Chapel and Stone Chapel facilities are available for these services.
After service options
Many families choose to have a reception at the Lewis Chapel or Stone Chapel. Each facility has a room designated for food and beverage to be presented. Lewis Chapel/Stone Chapel will provide coffee, punch, utensils, and plates for receptions on the premises. Families can arrange for catered refreshments with their funeral director.
